Responsibilities:

As a Supervisor at Big Country Drilling, your primary responsibility will be to oversee drilling operations and manage a team of skilled workers. Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Supervising drilling activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, industry best practices, and company policies.
  • Managing and coordinating the daily activities of the drilling crew, providing clear instructions, and fostering a positive work environment.
  • Monitoring drilling progress, analyzing data, and implementing adjustments to optimize efficiency and productivity.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and ensure that all crew members adhere to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Collaborating with clients, to ensure project objectives are met within the designated timeframes and budgets.
  • Assessing equipment requirements, coordinating maintenance, and troubleshooting issues to minimize downtime.
  • Providing technical guidance and training to crew members, promoting skill development and knowledge sharing.
  • Maintaining accurate records, preparing reports, and documenting any incidents or accidents that occur on-site.
  • Conducting performance evaluations, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
  • Perform site scans and lease approval.

 

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Proven experience in drilling operations in the oil and gas industry (Specifically core hole drilling operations.
  • Strong leadership abilities with a demonstrated track record of effectively managing and motivating a diverse team.
  • In-depth knowledge of drilling equipment, techniques, and industry standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building positive relationships with team members and clientele.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities, with keen attention to detail.
  • Commitment to safety and ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies.
  • Proficiency in computer applications and software relevant to drilling operations.
  • Valid oil field tickets including Second Line Blow out prevention (Willing to train the right candidate)
  • Valid Class 3 or Class 1 driver's license with clean abstract
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Be proficient with digital software tools that are used for safety documentation, employee status and equipment work orders.
